A day in the life of a gas engineer......

A day in the life of a gas engineer......

sometimes its the simplest things....

My servicesPosted by Sebastian Thu, December 01, 2011 21:41:51

I arrived to service a boiler ...... As always I asked 'hows it been behaving?'......... the response was somewhat negative....... the impression i got was it was a little cold..........

the boiler seemed to run fine, and all checked out.......... gas rate ok, co/co2 ok, flow good, temperatures good, .............. no funny noises........

i checked the rads and flow was good and all were heating well......

I followed up my 'behaving?' question with a few more - what / when /how......... but the consensus seemed to be 'cold all the bloody time'...........

hmmmmmmmmm

clicked the room stat up and down a few times while considering the situation.............

and looked down........

look closely

errrrrrrrr............. thats not a room stat! its a frost stat! temperature range -15 degrees C to +10 degrees C................

that will be the problem then!

However, its been in 5 years ! and serviced every year! how did no one notice? and who was the retard engineer who thought a frost stat would be ok as a room stat?
